Blue Mountain Christian University’s Fine Arts Department presents Rev. Riding in the Hood, written by Pastor Joseph Parker of American Family Radio and Elizabeth Parker, on Wednesday, Feb. 28th at 2:30 pm, Thursday, Feb. 29th at 6:30 pm, and Friday, March 1st at 6:30 pm.
This comedy/drama play features memorable characters from the rough neighborhoods of present-day Memphis. Reverend John Riding, better known as Rev, preaches a sermon about the Ten Commandments to a local assembly and addresses the sanctity of life, inspiring the congregation members to do the “right thing.” As the story unfolds, people are challenged to be hearers and doers of God’s Word.
This play features a wonderful cast, including Blue Mountain Christian University students Hannah Wilson, Giana Curosi, Lily-Ann Smith, and Jonathan Hitt, along with Moriah Addison, Sam-Witt Addison, Kingslee Hendrix, Vivian Mitchell, and Joseph Parker as the Rev.
“This production is convicting, provoking, and faith-affirming,” according to Director and Assistant Professor of Speech and Theatre Christi Mitchell. “I am so thrilled to collaborate with Pastor Joseph Parker on this production. His experience and passion for the Word of God are tremendous, and the cast is such a blessing to work with. This is going to be a great show.” Rev. Riding in the Hood will motivate audiences to do the right thing because, as the Rev says, "Everybody's got time for God's Word."
